24 Hour Comic Day Progress

Above are some progress shots of my comic as I finished penciling the figures. As you can see I haven't started the backgrounds yet but I did finish the word bubbles and text. Plan on switching out my bad, inconsistent handwriting for more legible font text.

Finally scanned the pages this past  on 2/6/12 but was finished with all the pencils of the pages in January. Ugh, you see where I'm so inconsistent. I also got to the point where I wanted to just get it done so I could work on my other projects. XD I know it's bad, but at least I'm progressing. I plan on toning it soon on the computer and fix the text. This is a raw scan, before I edited anything. Planning on toning the pages now but hopefully will be able to get it all done by March...*crosses fingers*

"Game Plan" Experiments

I don't know if you guys know or care, but when I say "Game Plan" I mean my "work schedule for comics". I've been trying to find a good work flow for me. In between working part time and trying to manage my time more carefully to create art and comics.

During the month of November 2011 I tried to finish a comic which was already started and partially done. I had hoped to work on two projects at the same time. The 24 Hour Comic I started and my side story for my character Eilam for the Joint Comic Project group that I'm in on dA.

Anyways, these were my attempts at making myself follow a schedule. I was experimenting, trying to find a method that worked best for me. Still refining it, but am going to try this again because I was doing good for a little while but I stopped for some reason. XD Hopefully, you'll learn a little from my experimentation.

This was my first attempt at keeping a schedule. I had the ambitious idea that I could finish that many pages a week. Needless to say, I failed. A pen sketch of Niella and Kuwei to help keep me inspired even though I wasn't working on their story at the time....XD Screwed up their anatomy a little...

I didn't like the method I did above so I changed it up to be task-oriented rather than page-number-oriented. This worked out much better than I thought. I was able to focus on just getting one task done for all the pages instead of worrying about finishing a page before I could move on.

As you can see, I started crossing off the tasks as I finished them. I had to extend Week 3's details and backgrounds actually past Week 4. lol I think that I worked on the pages off and on but I plan on starting to tone the pages soon. Will experiment some more to see if I can improve my work flow a little more.

Anyone who has a good work flow already? Any recommendations or advice? Care to share?

Sketchbook Project 2012 Art Dump - Pt 1

Made it in time to finish my Sketchbook Project 2012! Mailed it on the 31st. XD Talk about cutting it close. lol My theme was: Uncharted Waters. Didn't stick with the theme too much. Whoops. XD

So I had plans to make it fun and interactive but ended up having to rush so I forgot it. Plus with Ohayocon during the week it was due also kind of hindered me because I forgot when it was. Hopefully you guys have fun looking through my pages. I rebound the book adding pages, so I doubled the amount of pages...(bad idea now that I think about it) but was able to get it done in time. It's all in black and white which is fine, if I spent my time more wisely there would have been color. OTL

Broke up all the pages into 4 parts,  didn't realize my scans were that big. Oh well, just keep coming back if you like what you see! I started off good but as you can see I got a little lazy and just wanted to fill up the pages when I was done. I ended up writing quotes that I like so hopefully you'll find them inspiring as well.
